Statement of Support for Peace from the Association of Women Religious in the Archdiocese of Cotabato (AWRAC)

The Association of Women Religious in the Archdiocese of Cotabato ( AWRAC ) strongly supports the Peace Process as a way in resolving conflict especially in the Mindanao problem. All out war has the following effects: 

• It will worsen the situation because the lives of all people will be at stake. 

• In an all out war, it’s the civilians that will suffer, anger and hatred among people will escalate especially among those who lost their loved ones because of war. 

• It can cause displacement of many people in the area as has happened before, during the time of former president Estrada when he declared an all out war. 

We make our voice heard. WE SUPPORT THE PEACE PROCESS rather than war.
