Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro

On October 7, 2012, the government peace panel led by GPH chief negotiator Marvic Leonen, and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front peace panel chaired by Mohagher Iqbal, forged the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro which serves as the roadmap for the creation of the Bangsamoro entity that will replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Then on October 15, 2012, both parties signed the agreement at Malacañang in the presence of President Benigno Aquino III, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Quintos Deles, and MILF chair Al Haj Murad Ebrahim.
