Sec. Ging Deles is this year's Metrobank Professorial Chair Awardee

The Ateneo School of Government, in partnership with Metrobank Foundation Inc., is awarding the 2011 Metrobank Professorial Chair for Public Service and Governance to Honorable Teresita Quintos-Deles, current Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, who has been a constant force that pushes for peace and development in the country both as a member of civil society and as a government official.
The Metrobank Foundation Professorial Chair for Public Service and Governance is awarded to outstanding Filipino citizens who have displayed an exemplary record in public service, and who have shown commitment and dedication to the country and its people. It is awarded to servant-leaders who have become a model of ethical and effective public leadership in the country.
Secretary Deles’ professorial lecture this year will center on the progress of the peace talks with the MILF and CPP-NPA-NDF, zeroing on the Aquino Administration’s peace strategy -- concrete plans, timelines and targets of the Peace Panels, the expected outcomes and the needs in order for the country to be prepared for the structural reforms that the peace process may lead to.
